Event: Rally for Arts Education with Ken Marsh

Rally for Arts Education at Rosemary Court August 16, with many of our community's arts leaders and Ken Marsh for Sarasota School Board!
Please bring art supplies, art materials, and used instruments for our students -- and a readiness to stand up strong in support of Ken Marsh and arts education. Featuring live music, light refreshments and a live mural.
Ken Marsh worked tirelessly for decades to help preserve arts education despite years of painful budget cuts. Now he's seeking the District 1 School Board seat and faces three opponents in an Aug. 26 election. He needs your support! The "Rally for Arts Education and Ken Marsh" is 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 810 Central Avenue. Admission is free; please bring art and music supplies for donation to students. Widely known more than 3,000 years ago, Jin Shin Jyutsu was dramatically revived by Japanese Master Jiro Murai in 1912 after he cleared himself of a “terminal” illness. A unique healing art, Jin Shin Jyutsu is applied to the body through gentle touch and can be received from a trained practitioner or applied to one’s self. Master Murai’s student, Mary Burmeister, brought the knowledge of this ancient wisdom to America and wrote a series of Self-Help books with projects for daily health maintenance and to address energetic imbalances. You will experience one or more of the self-help projects from these books in each class.

We’ll begin with gentle stretching suitable for any body, followed by an extended deep relaxation bathed in the sound of the GONG. We will end with a beautiful chant to elevate our consciousness to the realm of the Infinite. Each GONG session is unique and each person will experience and clear exactly what you are ready to experience and release. It is a totally individual experience that will heal the mind, body and spirit, so come and prepare to be transformed!

An ancient art and science, and sometimes rigorous workout, that strengthens the nervous system, balances the glandular system and helps to harness the energy of the mind and emotions and facilitate greater awareness. The class includes pranayam (breath work), posture sequences (kriyas), mantras, meditation, and relaxation. The class is both invigorating to the body and calming to the mind. It is about waking up!
