In the first part of this two hour Yoga Nidra Workshop, we will move through a grounding yin practice, preparing the body for yogic sleep (nidra), followed by a guided yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is translated as “Yogic Sleep.” Yoga nidra is the science of relaxation which enables each of us to dive deep down into the realms of the subconscious mind, thereby releasing and relaxing mental tensions, and establishing harmony in all facets of our being. You will gradually begin to empty the contents of your mind by moving down through brain waves where there are less and less thoughts. In this state, the mind is exceptionally receptive. It is here that we will set an intention (sankalpa) to create new and healthy habits.
